American Plum trees are beautiful and highly beneficial to deer and birds. Often found in the wild alongside redbuds. Full to partial sun, they love treelines and windbreaks. A powerful addition to your native food forest, these plums can be jellied for human consumption and produce as young as 5 years old. My stock of American Plums averages 36″-55″ this year. These are great saplings, raised from seed – not cuttings. I ship in 48″ specialty boxes. These boxes require special handling as they make their way to you – they can’t always be packed on the next truck to leave the postal facillity, and they may be held a few days longer at each location. To prepare for travel, I soak these trees in nutritious manure water, the, coat the roots in mud and wrap them in arbor paper / sealed in plastic. It’s a good process that has been successful for the thousands of bare root trees that I have personally packed and shipped.
